YOU CAN HELP US IMPROVE READING/ENGLISH SKILLS TO LOCAL ADULTS RESIDENTS!
The U.S. government conducted a study and determined that well over 20% of Indian River County residents are functionally illiterate. In other words, we have community residents who have difficulty completing an application, reading a newspaper, or understanding a map. At this time, there is a WAITING LIST of adults in our own community who are eagerly waiting to utilize our services.
Our organization is able to exist because of YOU. We receive private donations through individuals, businesses, and foundations. Without your generous support, we would not have been able to touch the lives of thousands of adults in our community that we have reached. Our students have been able to obtain their driver’s license, pass the GED, enter college, and read to their child for the first time.
Please help us touch the lives of adults in our own community who want to improve their reading skills by becoming a member of Friends of Literacy Services of IRC. Membership is based on a calendar year and is annual.
